FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Arctuva, compensation, and clinical study participation.

  • Is Arctuva free to join?

Yes. Creating an account and browsing studies is always free. Arctuva earns a placement fee from research sponsors when a participant completes a study — your compensation is separate from that.

  • What is Avarithim verification?

Avarithim is a privacy-preserving identity network that verifies your real-world identity without exposing your raw documents to Arctuva. Verification unlocks Tier 4 status and the highest-compensated studies.

  • How is compensation calculated?

Compensation varies by study. Most studies pay per visit, with a screening fee plus a completion bonus. Arctuva extracts this information from each study's protocol and displays it on the study page.

  • Will my health data be shared with anyone?

No. Your health profile data is encrypted with field-level KMS encryption and is only used to match you to studies. It is never sold or shared with third parties. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

  • What kinds of studies are on Arctuva?

Arctuva indexes all recruiting clinical trials from ClinicalTrials.gov across all conditions and phases. This includes drug trials, device trials, behavioral studies, and observational research.

  • How often is study data updated?

Study data is updated daily via incremental sync from ClinicalTrials.gov. Status changes (e.g., a study closes enrollment) are typically reflected within 24 hours.

  • Can I participate in multiple studies at once?

Each study has its own eligibility criteria. Some studies allow concurrent participation and others don't — Arctuva shows you the eligibility criteria so you can decide.

  • How do I get paid?

Payment is handled directly by the research sponsor according to their protocol. Arctuva provides the connection; the study team handles enrollment paperwork and compensation.
