This study aims to understand the mechanisms underlying nausea response in the brain stem, and the effect of vagal nerve stimulation on nausea.

Eligibility

Age range: 18–65 years
Sex: All
Healthy volunteers: Yes

Detailed criteria

Inclusion Criteria: Age 18-65 years old (inclusive) Ability to give written consent and participate in behavioral intervention in English Avoidance of alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine for 24 hours prior to study session Motion Sickness Susceptibility Questionnaire (MSSQ) percentile score \> 60. Adequate visual, hearing, cognitive, and physical ability Exclusion Criteria: Chronic nausea due to medications or gastrointestinal conditions Prior or current history of seizures Severe autonomic dysfunction No active clinical acupuncture therapy History of arrhythmias Endorses any contraindications…
