The purpose of this research is to assess the impact of a telephone follow-up visit on rehospitalizations after ostomy surgery.

  Participants assigned to the intervention will receive a structured post-discharge telephone follow-up call from a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence nurse within 1 week after hospital discharge.
